I'll overwhelm 'legitimate boxer' Jake Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua is set to fight Jake Paul in an eight-round match which will be streamed live on the streaming platform.

Briton Joshua declared he will "overwhelm entirely" the American and "defeat" the American as the two fighters came face-to-face to build hype for the upcoming boxing match.

Former two time unified title holder Joshua faces YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a massive uneven pairing - at Miami's Kaseya Center on December 19th.

Fighter's Mindset

"I plan to injure his face and damage his physique. I aim to demonstrate I'm superior," Joshua, 35, said.

"I will dominate him completely. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I will genuinely try to hurt him. That's my intention."

Respectful Interaction

Despite those words, a relaxed Anthony Joshua and social media star Paul - typically famous for his theatrics - were respectful and remained civil with each other.

Jake Paul instead attacked former Joshua opponent Francis Ngannou and called him "ridiculous" after Ngannou declined a fight offer.

Taking Aim at Tyson Fury

Anthony Joshua, at the same time, targeted UK opponent Fury - and declined a million-pound wager 'Tyson Fury' says he will place on a victory for Paul.

"[Paul] is better than Fury - he's present here," Joshua said.

"I respect him for that."

Legitimate Opponent

Despite stating he plans to punish Paul, Joshua declined to speak negatively about his opponent's pugilistic talent.

"Jake is a legitimate boxer," he remarked.

Paul's History

Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has primarily boxed mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since turning professional.

He lost to Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.

Commercial Attraction

Nevertheless, the relative newcomer continues to be one of the sport's greatest commercial attractions, frequently receiving massive earnings.

Prediction and Belief

The 28 year old predicted a stoppage in the fourth or fifth round and claimed he would derail the much-anticipated match between Joshua and Fury, which is reportedly under discussion for two years from now.

"It will be my match with Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul declared.

Size Disparity

As Joshua and Paul participated in the customary confrontation, with their height and weight contrast clearly visible, it highlighted just how unlikely this whole event is - and how remarkable it is that the match is really happening.
